The School of Geography's pool of field equipment has steadily gone
into decline over recent years, and this has resulted in
difficulties meeting the equipment needs of users.
While organised student field trips
return all borrowed equipment and normal wear-and-tear is kept to a
minimum by the constant attention of the technical members of staff,
it has become apparent that individual student and staff users
occasionally either return damaged equipment or are sometimes slow
at returning items. The Laboratory and Field Equipment Committee
have therefore initiated a deposit system for students in connection
with the loan of items of equipment. |
